Sheringham
Attractions
Sheringham know as 'Twix sea & pine' has a lovely high street with lots of individual shops that lead down to the seafront; where you can watch the fisherman launch their traditional boats from the shore.
The blue flag beach is a mix of pebbles & sand with a flat promenade, running the full length of the town is part of the North Norfolk Coastal path incorporating 'The Deep History Coast'. A popular attraction in the town is the North Norfolk Railway, which runs both steam & diesel engines through Weybourne to the lovely Georgian town of Holt.
Sheringham's sun rises and sets over the sea & you can capture some stunning views as the sky can be lit up. Sheringham town has these wonderful places to visit: North Norfolk Railway, Sheringham Little Theatre, Sheringham Museum 'The Mo", Sheringham Leisure centre, The Reef. The stunning Sheringham Park managed by the National Trust has wonderful sea views & famous for the Rhododendrons turning into a blast of colour in the spring.
Not to forget the keen golfers amongst you Sheringham has a Golf course right on the cliff edge to keep you on your toes.
Located within an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with miles and miles of stunning coastline to explore. You could visit a different beach for everyday of your holiday. Above is a few photo's of the local area, all within 10 miles of Sheringham.
Nature is an important part of Norfolk and you can see Birds, Seals & Deer in may locations within the county
Britain has the around 50% of the worlds Seal population and Norfolk has approximately 5000 pups born each year making it one of the best places to see the Seals up close (but from a safe distance) Blakeney Point being the closest (and Horsey beach a little further afield)
Some of my favourite place to visit include Cromer Pier, Cley Marshes & Village,
Felbrigg Hall is National Trust, on the doorstep and great place for a walk followed by a visit to the cafe, gift shop or walled garden.
Hillside West Runton animal sanctuary is a half day out, especially great for younger members of the family.
Baconsthorpe Castle - English Heritage site, extensive ruins perfect for family picnics and grass games eg. football

The Deep History Coast is 22 miles long & stretches the coastline from Weybourne through Sheringham to Cart Gap.

West Runton is great for fossil hunting. It's also where the oldest & largest fossilised mammoth skeleton was ever found in the UK.
The Deep History Coast has provided the earliest evidence for human occupation so far discovered in northern Europe.

Norfolk is also home the to 'The Broads' National Park with lots of activities to fill the day or hop on the bus/train and visit The fine City of Norwich.
Holkham Estate is one of my favourite places to drive, a 40 Min coastal drive with stunning views from Tree Top View. The Estate has woodlands, Deer, Climbing area, a beach as far as the eye can see, which also allows horses on (but check Holkham website before you travel for the latest) and so much more....
Sandringham Estate is a much loved country retreat of her Majesty the Queen and only 13 miles from the coloured cliffs of Hunstanton
Bewilderwood is a forest and outdoor adventure play park suitable for children & adults alike. With slide, zip wires and many more tree based activities nessed in the Norfolk broads.
Pensthorpe is a nature reserve & woodland conservation park, with interactive trails & eco play areas.
Blickling Hall is National Trust and one of my favourite buildings, being of Jacobean era
Happisburgh Lighthouse - is only independant run lighthouse in Great Britain, it has limited opening days throughout the year and it goes without saying close to the beach but also a good playpark - HMS Invincible
